A word about motivation.

h1 Thursday, March 30th, 2006

You’d think the fact that my assignment is due on Monday would be motivation enough to get it done. Just not so. I’m not interested in it. I feel really stupid looking at the scant outline for it as I’m sure there’s something I’m missing. I’ve hardly done anything, but I can’t think what else to do.

Another long day with very little productivity. Its been a regular occurance lately.. I managed to get out of the house long enough to find a 21st present for a friend this weekend, but that’s as interesting as my day gets folks. I’ll be amusing myself for the evening too, which will no doubt prove to be a right barrel of monkeys.

If I hear one more report about Cyclone Glenda I may just cry. There’s nothing very interesting in Onslow anyway.

In more up-lifting news, pay went in early this fortnight. Atleast when board comes out tomorrow I’ll have a little more than 92c to my name. I might even be able to save a little.. Next fortnight will not be as kind, since I took yesterday off sick. Back to work tomorrow. *puke*

*splutter*

Now I remember why it was never worth faking sick. Midday movies suck.

*cough, splutter*

h1 Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

I’m sick. I dont like it. I called in sick to work, on account of having almost no voice left after all the spluttering of yesterday, and Julie laughed at me. I guess that’s fair, I sound like a strangled frog.

On the up side, little laptop allows me to do assignments from the bed. Actually I’m trying to work out if that’s such a plus afterall.. Rob fed me drugs, gave me a waterbottle and tucked me into bed before he headed off to work this morning, which I thought was very sweet of him ;)

Apart from my obvious bid for sympathy, this post was actually aimed at my fellow cheap-skates. The percussion group Defying Gravity will be doing the FREE lunchtime concert this coming Tuesday 4th April. Concert starts at 1:10 pm and goes for an hour, so if you have the afternoon off, or were looking for a reason to throw a sickie, this is well worth the time.

That is all. *croak*

From the world of music.. Thank you.

A Canadian official at the Commonwealth Games just appologised on Rove Live for Celine Dion. Aboot time :D

rantrantrant..

h1 Tuesday, March 21st, 2006

Having typed that subject I’m certain I’ve typed it before.. And it still looks kinda like “tarrantula” O_O

So what goes on in the world of Nay.. Apart from being spoiled and going house-hunting (A- hunting we will go) I have a couple friends that I’m all advised-out over.. She wants space to work out her own stuff because after four years she doesn’t think she loves him anymore; he just wants to make it all better and right because after four years he loves her just as much as ever and so comes across as rather crowding and clingy. Happy days, tra-la-la. I’m still in the only relationship I’ve ever had to last over six months, so there’s only so much I can really say to help. And its not much at all. But since it more or less centres on “Back off for a week” it seems all I can do is keep repeating it. We shall see.

My brother’s in a little trouble too. Ok quite alot of trouble. He’s working for Bridgestone doing a tyre-fitting traineeship at the moment, which is really great since the engineering course he did in year12 has allowed him to knock a few units off, meaning it could cut the traineeship back as much as six months. He and his long term girlfriend (a couple years is very long term at 18) broke up about a month ago, which broke his little heart. Only a couple weeks later he found a new flame, which seemed to mend it rather swiftly :P Neither of these things is the problem. The problem is that my brother is actually a sheep. Not in the woolly New Zealander sense, but in the follow-the-leader-without-thinking-first sense. Unfortunately he followed a couple twerps who were under 18, got in trouble with the cops and now said twerps are saying my brother the sheep instigated the whole thing. Ba-bow.. Watch this space for more on Thursday.

The next installment in my Uni saga is now in too. I payed my fees the other night because they were due. I was still enrolled in the unit that doesn’t exist anymore, as I was waiting for them to invent a unit code for the one I’m doing instead. That means I payed for the old unit. Today I got the new unit code. It is now very likely that I will be stuck paying for both as Fees Office are notorious for their “no refund ever in a million years” policy. Thanks for getting that code organised nice and speedy-like guys. Good Job.

And now for a ray of sunshine (pun absolutely intended). I picked up a copy of the performance schedule for this semester this afternoon, and the Jazz in the Theatre theme is the music of Ray Charles. I’m sure the jazz kids will do the guy more than justice, so who wants to go? The happy event will be running Tues 11- Thurs 13th April, prices $19.50 adults; $14.50 concession. Unfortunately the lack of cash going into the Arts in WA is being felt by we the audience, but past experience says if I get you all concession tix it will be well worth it. Don’t pay adult. Never pay adult :D

The next exciting thing will be the percussion ensemble Defying Gravity, who I can also heartily recommend from past experience. These guys will be running their Fascinating Rhythms (0 points for imagination) program Wed 26- Thurs 27th April, for the afore-mentioned prices. General Public bookings open 28th March, and with the reputation these guys carry, you will very likely need to book.

All performances start at 7:30pm and will be in various parts of WAAPA- The Arts Management kids do a great job of ushering you to the right theatre/ auditorium. Some of us may recognise Lauren Donaldson :P

Now, let me see..

Shut down..

h1 Monday, March 20th, 2006

Well what else should we really have expected for our first time? We did go back to the house for another look and met up with the agent later on, and we put in an offer. Which really means signing alot of paperwork. And then we waited on a call, since he was meeting the seller that night. There were about 6 offers put in, and ours was one of the rejected ones.. I guess we are a little more familiar with the process now though, so it’ll be just that little bit easier next time. Still.. *sigh*

Back to the email alerts and pages of photos I guess..

Mum B.

h1 Tuesday, March 7th, 2006

She slipped peacefully off to a better place at 10:30 yesterday morning. A truly beautiful, loving person, mother of two amazing people and second-mother to a large number of us rat-bags. She will be dearly missed, but cherished forever.

RIP Brenda.
Luv ya Mum.

So my computer will be gutted again. I just got everything plugged back in and set up in my desk the way I need it. I’ll have to go back to half the RAM I’ve just enjoyed playing with. No photos for a while again kids :’(
